Membership Benefits

Midwest Asian American Students Union consists of colleges and universities across the Midwest. These schools make up the membership of MAASU. Each year, schools renew their membership with an annual membership fee. [Please note that the membership fee for 2007-2008 has been increased to $75. New member schools or schools who have not been members for the last two years are eligible for a special rate.] Member schools enjoy certain privileges that MAASU offers including discount rates at MAASU functions, the ability for your schools to host MAASU and the right to vote where you want MAASU to be held next. Members are also offer a wide variety of resources including a speaker/performer database, networking opportunities and so much more. Become a member and take advantage of what MAASU has to offer.

By exploring progressive issues such as the labor movement, environmental justice, and hate crimes, the Midwest Asian American Students Union is the primary advocacy resource for the Midwest APIA college student.

We offer:

* National Networking with other regional Asian American student unions, national Asian American advocacy groups and active individuals.
* Interaction with prominent Asian American leaders, such as Executive Director of the Organization of Chinese Americans, Christine Chen and grass roots activist, Grace Lee Boggs.
* Connection to the community through collaboration with local movers and shakers of the Asian American movement.
* Registration fee discounts per student for member schools at the Fall Leadership Retreat, Spring Conference, and where applicable otherwise.
* Voting privileges per school at all official MAASU functions.
* Receive monthly MAASU newsletters.
